O Taste and see that the Lord is good! - Psalm 34
We believe people are created to worship God!
We live out this belief each week, and on special occasions throughout the
year, as we gather to joyfully celebrate the presence of God in our midst.
At Community Presbyterian Church, worship is a
mixture of rhythm and verse which draws us closer to God in praise. The form
of our worship crosses the centuries of faith and yet finds focus and
relevance in our time and our lives. As we gather, the Spirit of God moves
among us, opening our hearts and minds to the Word of God. To be Christian
means to be in community, therefore, we take time to share our joys and our
concerns. In prayer, with and for one another, we receive peace and
strength in knowing that we are members of the family of God. Music and
singing are at the heart of our worship experience. Voices of all abilities
are encouraged to join together as we lift our common song to God. From
worship, we are sent into the world, that our song might be sung in our
lives throughout the week, bearing the love of God in all that we say and
do.
Our worship life is guided by the ebb and flow
of the seasons of the year, from the expectation of Advent to the wonder of
Christmas, from the quiet reflection of Lent to the joyous celebration of
life that is Easter! The first Sunday of each month we celebrate the
sacrament of the Lord’s Supper as we share the bread and the cup. Through
faith in Jesus Christ, all are welcome at the table.
You are
welcome here! We place no barriers to worship and invite all to join the
life of this “Open-Hearted and Open-Minded” congregation!
