CPC Handbell Choirs
The Ring Tones Handbell Choir (beginning youth choir) practice during the 2nd half of Sunday school from 11:20 am to 12:00pm. Practices are held for approximately 6 weeks prior to performance. They perform on average 1-2 times per year. No past musical training is necessary but the ability to read music is helpful. Ringers learn to play both handbells and hand chimes.
The Jubellation Handbell Choir (intergenerational choir) practices on Wednesdays from 6:15pm – 7:15pm for approximately 6 weeks prior to performing. They perform on average 2-3 times per year.
Most recently a quartet handbell group was formed and they also practice Wednesday evenings from 6:15pm – 7:15pm for approximately 6 weeks prior to performing. Performance schedule is yet to be determined for this group.
Ringers may commit to one or more sessions of approximately 6 weeks of practices prior to each performance. This schedule enables a beginner to try out handbells and hand chimes without committing to a whole season. However, many of our ringers do continue to play the whole season and several play in more than one choir.
